Sally stood on the cold cement and wrote a short poem while waiting for her mother. The poem began simple, and told of a swan that swam in a lake with her ducklings. They drank out of the crystal clear water. Sally looked up and saw her neighbor as she drove by. They gave quick hellos. During their brief time that they spoke with one another, Sally didn't realize her pencil broke as she stepped on it. Then Sally's mother came to pick her up, and they drove back home.
