The Battle of Berlin was the last major battle in Europe during world war II. It resulted in the surrender of the German Army and the end of Adolf Hitler's rule.
The battle began on april 16, 1945 and lasted until May 2, 1945 when the soviets attacked along the Oder river near Berlin. They quickly defeated the German forces outside Berlin and advance of the city.
After the war Berlin was controlled by the Axis The Soviet Union at the west and The United states, The united Kingdom and France the east side.
