The U.S constitution outlines the policy-making process under Article 1 that provides instructions on the policy-making process and areas of public policy that Congress is responsible for. Several of these areas have domestic and foreign implications. The concepts related to US domestic and foreign policies include:
Domestic Policy concepts
1. Social Welfare- Provides economic and assistance to those in need i.e. Social Security that's retirement income for the elderly.
2. Health Care- Procides health assistance and support i.e. medicare that provides medical care for the elderly
3. Education- Provides teaching and learning support to students through high school and college i.e. No Child Left Behind that focus on quality education standards and accountability.
Foreign Policy
1. Diplomacy- The work of keeping up good relations between governments of different countries in the world
2. Allies- This is a union between countries or assistance and protection i.e. the Marshall plan (European recovery plan) 1948-1951
3. Treaty/ Alliance- This is an arrangement or agreement between two or more countries i.e. the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (SALT I) 1972
4. Ambassador- An individual who is sent as the chief representative of his/her government in another country.
