1. The article "A Pearl Harbor Timeline" by the NPR has a good timeline of what happened during, before, and after the attacks. (I'd put a link but it won't let me)

2. Admiral Yamamoto authorized the attacks.

3. America has an official Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day (Dec 7)

4. They did succeed in the attack as the officers at Pearl Harbor weren't able to be notified until after the bombings had already begun. Over 2000 Americans died and over 1000 were left wounded. (idk about their goals politically though)
