Performing a warm-up routine involves the process of slightly raising your body temperature while increasing blood and oxygen circulation throughout your body. During the warm-up portion of your weight training workout, your body temperature should increase by one to two degrees Celsius.

Mostly heavy work exercises increase the temperature. Doing 15 jumping jacks will not. For example, doing push-ups to your breaking or limit point may increase your oxygen and blood flow, but since you are really tired and sweaty probably it will increase the temperature by a 1 Celsius usually.
