The answer to this question is A. Sharia is the law based on Islam. Even though Western civilization was influenced by Christianity, the legal system in the west is not defined by religion. Western countries are secular, religion is separate from the state. Under Sharia, Islam is considered to be the only proper religion and its tenets become law.

Answer:

A. It applies tenets of Islamic faith to law.

Explanation:

Similar to Jewish law, the Sharia regulates moral conduct, family life, business practices, government, and other aspects of individual and community life. It does not separate religion from criminal or civil law, but applies religious principles to all legal situations. (Quoted from Pearson Education)
