Skyresh Bolgolam is the antagonist, or the obstacle that has presented itself against the protagonist. The antagonist in a story can be another character, an object or animal, or even an idea; in this case it is the high-admiral. In the passage, it is he who has grown to hate Gulliver because of his success, and who has become a mortal enemy.
