Harriet Tubman uses ethos to have the readers trust her and it helps make her an author you can trust.  Ethos is when an author tries to convince the reader that they are a reliable source. So she uses ethos for her rhetorical appeal.

The rhetorical appeal used by Harriet Tubman: Driver in the underground railroad, is Ethos. Distinctive Because she is establishing her own credibility to her audience. She uses her own knowledge as a tool. While they were walking she told them stories about her first flight.
