Suppose the supreme court justices vote on a decision in franklin v. united states. the chief justice votes with three other justices in favor of franklin. who will write the opinion of the court?

A judge or a group of judges will have to write a court opinion for Franklin Roosevelt. It is the legal opinion given by the judges to present their vote. It can change the ruling given prior to the decision. 

I believe the answer is: The opinion would be written by one of the justices who voted with the majority.

The opinion would include includes a summary of the facts, a recitation of the applicable law and how it relates to the facts, and would not affected the decision made by the supreme court in any way. But it would be filled with perspective regarding the train of thought that the voters have leading up to the final decision.
