Four students are asked to find the mass of a mineral using a calibrated balance. The results were as follows. 16.009g 15.780g 16.110g and 15.990g the known mass of the mineral is 16.100g which student's result was most accurate?

Respuesta :

The student that measured the mass to be 16110g got closest to the known result. She is off by 10 g.

Answer:

m = 16.110 g

Explanation:

As we know that error in the measurement is the deviation in the result obtained from experimental result and theoretical result.

So here we will find the error in each reading as we know that theoretical result of the mass is 16.100 g

so here we will have

[tex]\Delta m_1 = 16.100 - 16.009 = 0.091[/tex]

[tex]\Delta m_2 = 16.100 - 15.780 = 0.320[/tex]

[tex]\Delta m_3 = 16.110 - 16.100 = 0.010[/tex]

[tex]\Delta m_3 = 16.100 - 15.990 = 0.110[/tex]

So in all above the least error is in the mass 16.110 g reading
