Increase in temperature means:
- The substance is getting hotter
- It's internal energy is rising

Increase in temperature indicates that the the kinetic energy of the particles in the body is increasing  and motion of particles increases.

What is temperature?

Temperature is the measure of degree of hotness or coldness of a body .

It decides the direction of flow of heat. heat always flows from a body at higher temperature to lower temperature until both the bodies gain same temperature. it is measured in Celsius, Fahrenheit or  kelvin.

What is kinetic energy?

Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by the body due to the motion of the particles.

A body possesses internal energy which is the sum of kinetic energies and potential energies of its atoms or molecules. When heat is supplied to the body , it results in the rise in motion of the particles and thus the kinetic energy increases which leads to increase in temperature

The relation between kinetic energy per molecule and temperature is given by

K.E = [tex]\frac{3}{2}[/tex]kT

where, K is boltzman constant

and T is temperature

Hence we can see that an increase in temperature indicates that kinetic energy of molecule increases.
