In the year 1998, the Rockefeller family was said to have pioneered a shareholder revolt and this was said to be made against Exxon over the issue of the company's climate change policy.

What did they want changed?

Exxon still holds the fact that their present green technologies was said to be not financially viable  and as such,   In the US, there were said to be three advisory firms  who did urged fund managers to be in support the Rockefellers' resolution.
