Age-related anorexia can indeed lead to decreased immunity and anemia in older adults.

Older adults often fail to consume a sufficient quantity of food to meet their basic energy and nutrient necessities. Age-related anorexia is defined by a decline in appetite or food intake in old age and it is a major contributing factor to under-nutrition and poor health developments in the aged population and can increase the chances of mortality.

Poor nutrition intake affects bodily functions severely affecting the immunity and regeneration of new blood cells causing poor immunity and anemia, increasing the chances of getting infections, and slow recovery rate and weakness.
