Amides can be produced by the reaction of carboxylic carbon and ammonia.  Compound that containing nitrogen atom bonded in hydrogen framework are classified amines.

Amine comprises one or more nitrogen atoms bonded with alkyl groups. They are classified into three different type which is based on their name such as primary , secondary and tertiary amine. That difference is based on the position of nitrogen atom linked to carbon atom in a molecules chain.

Compared to amines , other compounds are very weak base and do not have clearly defined acid - base properties in water. The carbon group present in the amide is strongly electronegative and they are more acidic because nitrogen in amines have a lone pair of electrons which protons.
