Hot aisle is the term used for where heat is sent by most equipment which are cooled by bringing cold air in the front and ducting the heat out the back.

Hot aisle/cold aisle refers to a layout style particularly for information warehouses wherever vast servers and computing equipment are unbroken and information is kept. The aim of the new aisle/cold aisle is to manage air flow in data centers, consequently lowering the energy, cooling and management value within data centers.

Use hot and cold aisles is to confirm correct cooling. A cold aisle is made by having the front of the instrumentality face toward the middle of the aisle whereas hot aisles have the rear of the instrumentality face the aisle.
