Sometimes a law is just on its face and unjust in its application. The king supported this claim by describing a law about parade permits

Martin Luther King Jr. said that any law that enhances human personality is just. It is unjust for a law to diminish human personality.

There are times when a law appears to be fair but is really applied unfairly. For instance, I was detained on Friday under the suspicion of parading illegally. There is nothing wrong with a law that requires a permission for a parade, but when that ordinance is utilized to maintain segregation and deny residents the right to peaceful assembly and peaceful protest as guaranteed by the first amendment, that's when it turns into an injustice

I hope you can see the difference I'm attempting to make. I in no way support avoiding or disobeying the law the way a passionate segregationist would.
