The clients who had tuberculosis at very critical stage would likely require the most follow-up from rifampin therapy. Rifampin comes as a pill to take via mouth.
It need to be taken with a full glass of water on an empty stomach, 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. When rifampin is used to treat tuberculosis, it is taken as soon as daily.
Rifampin belongs to the classification of medicines referred to as antibiotics and works to kill or prevent the growth of bacteria. However, it will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections.
The medicinal drugs work best if they are taken all collectively one hour before, or two hours after, meals and preferably with water. Ideally, the medications have to be taken at the equal time every day. For sufferers who have nausea, the medicines can be taken with mild meals (eg, dry toast).
