Respuesta :

The author of John's gospel frequently condenses narratives that are given in more detail in other gospels.

The two primary sources of John's gospel contained 14 direct citations from the Hebrew scriptures, making them an important source. When allusions and echoes were taken into account, their significance was significantly expanded. The majority of John's direct quotations, however, don't quite match any known translation of the Jewish scriptures. The only Synoptic Gospel not included is John's, out of the four (i.e., those presenting a common view). Although St. John the Apostle, "the beloved disciple" of Jesus, is purportedly the author of the Gospel, there has been much debate regarding the actual identity of the author.
