Population distribution and settlement location in ancient Egypt is based on the primitive settlement pattern in ancient times. These settlement pattern is primarily propelled by three major factor which include the following.
It is because of these major factors that Ancient Egyptians settled along the Nile River, in the northeast corner of Africa.
The Ancient Egyptians lived along the banks of the river Nile in Egypt. Farmers first settled in Egypt along the River Nile around 5000 B.C. in other to use water from the river for agricultural because the banks of the river is made of good soil for agriculture.
Also the river served fishing purposes. It is worthy to note that about 95 % of Egypt’s population still live in the Nile valley as at today.
It is for this reason that the population distribution is still tilted towards the Nile river until this day
