A neural shock that follows brain damage during which areas connected to the site of damage show a temporary arrest of function is called ---- diaschisis

What is neural shock?

Neurogenic shock may be a distributive type of shock resulting in hypotension (low blood pressure), often with bradycardia (slowed heart rate), caused by disruption of autonomic systema nervosum pathways. It can occur after damage to the central systema nervosum , like spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury.

How long does it deem shock to go away?

So some people get over emotional shock in several hours. Others in several days, and a few in several weeks. And for a few , counting on what they go through, shock can even persist for six weeks or more. Note that it's also possible to experience 'delayed' emotional shock.
