What is psychosocial Conflict?
These conflicts, in Erikson's opinion, are primarily caused by either attaining or failing to attain a particular psychological trait. Both the possibility for failure and the possibilities for personal progress are great at this moment. A person who is driven to engage in two or more activities that are incompatible or mutually exclusive is said to be in personal or psychological conflict. When the overt, verbal, symbolic, or emotional responses necessary to achieve one motive are incompatible with those necessary to achieve another, it takes place.
The newborn, baby, toddler, preschool, and school-age stages are included in the five stages of a child's development. Up to puberty, children gradually go through a variety of changes in terms of their physical, verbal, intellectual, and cognitive development.
