Dorsiflexion is a movement of the ankle that brings the foot closer to the shin.

What is Dorsiflexion?

Dorsiflexion is the backward bending of the hand or foot of the person. This can be an extension of the body part of the person. A person can dorsiflex with the fingers and toes, even though the term "dorsiflex" usually refers to the wrist or ankle.

Raising the front of the foot causes dorsiflexion, rocking back on the heels with the balls of the feet elevated. Plantar flexion is brought on by pressing down on the front of the foot, raising the heels off the ground as you go up on the balls of the feet.

Thus, it is ankle and shin.
