Stretching and casting is the most common treatment for club foot .

Clubfoot is caused by a shortened Achilles tendon, which causes the foot to turn in and under. Clubfoot is twice as common in boys.

If your child has clubfoot, it will make it harder to walk normally, so doctors generally recommend treating it soon after birth. In babies who have clubfoot, the tendons that connect their leg muscles to their heel are too short. These tight tendons cause the foot to twist out of shape. Clubfoot is one of the most common congenital birth defects.

The main treatment, called the Ponseti method, involves gently manipulating and stretching your baby's foot into a better position. It's then put into a cast. This is repeated every week for about 5 to 8 weeks.
