A 68 year old client reports change in vision during night is because of the age related macular degeneration (AMD). It is the most common cause of loss of vision in people over 65 year age.
Due to the age over 65 year lens of eye become less clear and it cause light to scatter inside the eye and it increases the glare. Aging brings a gradually changes in pupil, it mostly reduce the size of pupil. Because of the reduction less light hits the retina.
It is also possible to lose the ability for near vision that is called as presbyopia. It makes the lens inside the eye flexible.
Pupil is the round opening in the center of the iris. It changes the size to left light into the eye.
