When he was alive, the Happy Prince was always cheerful. He resided at the Happiness Palace.
He had no idea what tears were. As a result, his courtiers dubbed him the Happy Prince.
After his death, his statue was raised to such a height that he could see the sadness of his city and mourned.
He wished to assist his people but was powerless to do so. His feet were shackled to the pedestal. Nonetheless, he assisted those in need via a little bird.
A lovely statue had been erected on a tall column high above the city. It was the Happy Prince statue.
It was encrusted with gold. Its eyes were sapphires, and its sword-hilt was ruby.
The Prince noticed a bird sitting between his feet one day. He informed the swallow that there was a poorhouse down the block.
There was a poor woman who lived there. Her small kid was sick. He developed a fever and was requesting oranges. But the impoverished woman couldn't afford to buy oranges.
