To perform a maneuver called an aileron roll, an airplane pilot uses the ailerons to set the wings in circular motion. The airplane turns like a screw as it maintains a straight flight path.

In one performance of this maneuver, the airplane takes 35s to complete one circle. Each wing length is 4.6m. What is the acceleration of the wing tip?

The correct answer for this question is this one:

"The wing tip is moving around a circle at a constant speed. And it says that the acceleration is centripetal. It moves a distance that is equal to the circumference of a circle, as
the wing makes a complete circle. The radius of the circle is equal to one half of the wingspan.

Circumference = 2 * π * 6.6 = π * 13.2
To determine the velocity, divide this distance by 22 seconds.

v = π * 13.2 ÷ 22
This is approximately 1.885 m/s.

Centripetal acceleration = (π * 13.2 ÷ 22)^2 ÷ 6.6
