Let the volume of 30% sulphuric acid

solution and 60% sulphuric acid solution to be mixed be x and y respectively.

Hence, it follows that;

  • x + y = 10

  • 0.3x + 0.6y = 4.2

By solving simultaneously, it follows that;

  • x = 6L

  • y = 4L.

Therefore, Ratio x/y = 6/4 = 3/2
