The prime numbers less than 100 are: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89 and 97. A prime number is any number that is only divisible by itself and 1. The number 1 is not considered a prime number. Since every even number can be divided by 2, in addition to itself and 1, even numbers are not prime numbers. The exception to this is 2, which can only be divided evenly by 1 and 2. The prime factorization of a number is a term used to describe a list of prime numbers that, when multiplied, results in the number. For example, the prime factorization of 18 is 2x3x3..
