Once upon a time there lived a king. One day while he was hunting, one of his arrows killed a little boy. He was the only son of a poor widow. The widow took the case to the judge. The judge initially feared the king to take up the case. Later, he feared God to whom he should be responsible and took up the case. (para-1) The king was asked to come for the enquiry. The king accepted it and before leaving for the enquiry, he hid a sharp sword under his robe. The judge said, "King, you have killed the only son of this poor widow which is a great loss for her." The judge then asked the king to compensate her for the loss . The king realized his mistake, apologized and arranged to give gold and gems for the poor widow’s livelihood.(para-2) After the judgment, the judge rose from his seat and offered his seat to the king. The king said, “I would have cut off your head with this sword, if you had judged incorrectly because of me being a king.” The judge replied, "King, if you had disobeyed my order, I would have taken the skin off your back." He then took his whip from his robe. The judge finally said, "Thanks be to God, we both did our duty." The king was pleased with the judge for his honesty.
