Rather than bringing us closer, technology pushes us further apart. Adolescents are no longer interested in spending time together for the relationship or friendship aspect, but for the attention. Teens now recognize the social importance of friends and are desparate to display their friendships. Friendships are based on status rather than mutual connection.
