What is social justice? From my perspective, social justice is the enlightened human concern for people of all backgrounds. It is the respect and endearment for people no matter their race, gender, sexuality, religion, or socioeconomic class. Social justice has, in a way, affected my life experience. Social justice hasn’t directly impacted my life experience, but I have learned about many cases of injustice throughout my years.

Thousands of people were displaced as a result of the civil war, and the government was paralysed. The only option for the Somali people to survive was to flee the country. Because the ongoing war in Somalia persists, safety is unavoidable. The United States has played a significant role in relocating refugees and assisting them in becoming legal citizens. Refugees are resettled at the discretion of the federal authorities. Many Somali refugees were transported to Minnesota in the Twin Cities or Saint Cloud area at the start of their journey to the United States.

The Somali community's initial location prompted a huge number of additional Somali refugees to relocate to Minnesota. Today, Minnesota is home to 40% of the Somali population in the United States, with 30% of them residing in the Saint Cloud region. The Somali community's immigration to Minnesota is one of the greatest migrations of people into a new country. In the instance of Saint Cloud, this new community has influenced the region's culture and economics.
