During the Elizabethan Age, the theatre was a prime source of entertainment. I think that the "commoners" were more drawn to theater than the upper classes of society because;
- It entertained them and became a source of distraction from the oppression of the rich people.
The mix of social classes might have caused the rich to absent themselves from the theaters.
Improper sanitation which caused the outbreak of plagues might have been another factor that limited the rich from going to the theaters.
Then, the poor might have been especially drawn to these theaters because it was a source of comfort from their hard labor.
