Linda is twice as old as Vera. Tanya is four less than four times the age of Linda. Their total age is two more than nine times the age of Vera. How old is Tanya, in years?

Let the age of Vera be x,

Linda's age = 2x

Tanya's age = (4 × 2x) - 4 = 8x - 4

Total Age = 9x + 2

so, let's Solve for x :

  • [tex]11x - 4 = 9x + 2[/tex]

  • [tex]11x - 9x = 2 + 4[/tex]

  • [tex]2x = 6[/tex]

  • [tex]x = 3[/tex]

Age of Tanya :

  • [tex](8 \times 3) - 4[/tex]
