El cura Miguel Hidalgo de origen mexicano .Fue una persona que tuvo una formación eclesiástica. Tuvo un gran contacto con la población indígena. Lo cual provocó que apreciara de mejor manera las malas condiciones en que vivían. El tenía una gran conciencia social contraria a la mayoría del grupo clerical.

Él es considerado como "el padre de la patria". Es llamado así debido a que fue quien inició el movimiento independentista mexicano. El 16 de septiembre de 1810 llamó a la población a iniciar el movimiento de independencia. El fue el líder militar y moral de dicho movimiento.
