This is embarrassing, but i kinda like forgot how to do math so can anyone explain how to do 209 x 204 while showing your work . the zeroes confuse me

So this always confused me but the same way you always drop a zero with a double digit, you drop 2 zeroes with a triple digit. So, 4*9 is 36. Carry the 3 and add it when multiplying 4*0. Multiple 4*2 to get 8. 0 times anything is 0. Drop 2 zeros. Multiply 2*9 to get 18. Carry the 1. Do 2*0 and add 1. Multiply 2*2 to get 4. Add all of these together and you should get 42636.
