I don't believe the Narrator is a reliable witness because, in a part of the book, the Narrator said he thinks Rodrick's mental illness wasn't taking its toll on him. Saying such makes the reader wonder about the mental state of the Narrator, as well. Moreover, the Narrator is also an objective witness, which means that most of what he says is an opinion. Furthermore, he may have helped Roderick Usher kill his sister, or the exposition is solely his dream.
