Ada Lovelace is recognized as the inventor of the first computer program. A computer program is a set of instructions that tells a computer to perform a specific task. In the 1800s, she created what many believe was the first mathematical formula for an early version of a computer. The computer was never built, but a hundred years later, Lovelace has notes about her invention helped computer scientists create programs for the complex computers we now use today.
