Maxine is buying extra pages for her photo album. Each page holds exactly 8 photos. Sketch a graph to show the maximum number of photos she can add to her album if she buys 1, 2, 3, or 4 extra pages. Tell whether the graph is continuous or discrete. Please tell why it is continuous or discrete and how you got your answer.
Use the horizontal axis (x-axis) for the # of extra pages, and the vertical axis (y-axis) for the # of photos she can add
Then put these points in the graph.
# extra pages # of photos she can add
1 8 2 16 3 24 4 32
The graph is discrete because you cannot join the points, this is you cannot put a non integer number of pages. So the graph will consist on a set of separated points. This is what discrete means. The points follow a tendency but you can not join them with a line, because there is not such thing as a fraction of page, or √2 pages.
