The answer to that question should be based on your interpretation of the events that occur in "The Cask of Amontillado" and your perception of the characters. For that reason, I can't write the epilogue for you, but I'll show you how to write it.

First, you need to understand that "The Cask of Amontillado" is the short story written by Edgar Alan Poe and tells the story of how Montressor trapped his friend inside a wall so that he would die a violent and slow death. In other words, Montressor tortured his friend to death, to get revenge for something that friend did to him.

As you may already know, Montressor committed a crime and although in the story written by Poe, he doesn't go to trial, you need to imagine what that trial would be like. You can do this as follows:

  1. Present evidence that Montressor is guilty of the crime: You can show witnesses to this crime, or fingerprints found at the crime scene, among other things like arguments between characters, threats etc.
  2. You must show evidence that Montressor should not be found guilty: You can do this by claiming that montressor has some kind of serious mental illness, or justifying that this crime was an act of revenge.
  3. 3. Lastly, you need to finalize the verdict, deciding whether the offender is guilty or innocent.

You must not forget that an epilogue is a part added to the end of the book, showing a conclusion and ending of all the events in the story.
