PLEASE HELP I MISSED THIS QUESTION

Why was naval superiority of greater importance in the war in Asia than it was in the war in Europe?

Asia was FILLED with islands and water unlike Europe, as all you need to do is rule over the meddtrainen sea ( Sorry for my bad spelling ) and English Channel, unlike Asia where you need lots of ocean dominance.

Asia was filled with islands and water, unlike Europe, as all you need to do is rule over the mediterranean sea (i agree with the other answer)
