Chin noticed 1/4 of the watches he bought needed repairs. He also noticed that 1/2 of the good watches had gold bands. If 48 of the good watches had gold bands how many watches did chin buy.

so 48 have gold and 48 is half of the good watches then there is 96 good watches and that's 3/4 of all the watches so the answer would be

128 watches in total
