How much longer, to the nearest minute, would it take to travel 290 miles at 60mph versus 70 mph.



Please help me this problem is causing me a lot of trouble

So using the equation distance = velocity * time
we get distance/velocity = time
60 MPH: 290/60 = 4.83333 Hours
60 MPH: 290/70 = 4.1429 Hours

Difference between them:
4.8333 - 4.1429 = 0.69 Hours, then multiply that by 60 and you get
41 Minutes.

if you traveled at 60mph and wanted to go to a place 290mi away, it would take 4.83 hours
(about 4 hours and 50 minutes)

but, if you traveled at 70mph and wanted to go to a place 290 miles away, it would take 4.14 hours
(about 4 hours and 8 minutes)

so, it would take about 42 minutes longer to travel at 60mph
