Rainforests are well known for being hot spots for
biodiversity. In other words, if you're looking for lots of
creatures both in terms of total numbers and species
variety-these habitats are where you want to be. It's one
of the biggest reasons why activists want to keep them
safe and healthy. Another reason-one we should all care
about--is that rainforests play a role in keeping our planet
healthy by absorbing harmful carbon dioxide and
releasing oxygen, which we need to survive

What is a rainforest?
