Stacy buys 3 CDs in a set for $30.38. She saved $6.34 by buying the set instead of buying the individual CDs.

If each CD costs the same amount, how much does each of the 3 CDs cost when purchased individually?

each CD costs $12.24 when sold individually

1. we add together 30.38 and 6.34 to get the full price when purchased individually

2. then you would divide $36.72 by three to get the individual cd price which is $12.24
