it is absorbing the color from the leaf :)

A leaf is "any of the principal appendages of a vascular plant stem, usually borne laterally aboveground and specialized for photosynthesis".

What is a vascular plant?

Vascular plant is "a large group of land plants that have lignified tissues for conducting water and minerals throughout the plant".

What is photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis is "the process by which plants use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to create oxygen and energy in the form of sugar".

A leaf absorbs all the colours out of seven colours of light (violet, red, blue, indigo, yellow, green and orange) except green colour, which are reflected back.

Hence, leaf looks green because green colour of light is not absorbed but it reflects back.
