It's b) Germany failed to destroy the British Air Force.

In the UK the Royal Air Force was one of the strongest air forces among the Allies during WWII, not to mention their navy was also one of the largest. Bottom line: it was impossible to invade UK properly because they weren't able to take over the UK's military and destroy it from the inside out.
