People could exploit this system and get away with major crimes. For example, people could go to a liquor store get drunk off their mind and go and kill someone and say oh my bad was intoxicated. a person can be responsible for it because they knew they were going to be under the influence when they took that drug or drank that alcohol. It wouldn't be fair if people where not held accountable for being intoxicated and being held responsible for their actions because if a drunk driver killed someone then the would be scott free.
