bile is synthesized in the liver. It leaves the liver through the two biliary canals. It is deposited in the gallbladder . When digestion occurs the bile leaves the gallbladder through the cystic canal to then reach the coleoc canal and is released in the duodenum. Bile contains minerals that decrease the surface tension of lipids making it easier for the lipase to action on them. The bile also contains sodium bicarbonate which increases the pH of the intestinal contents.
