Its function is to take carbondioxode from every cell and go to the lungs to dispose off the carbondioxode. In lungs, oxygen is loaded in haemoglobin cell and then hemoglobin goes to every cell of the body and unload the oxygen and take carbondioxode and repeat the cycle again.
