"The Wall" which contains the photographs and poems which honors the military and women civilization depicts visitors' reactions to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

11th November 1982, the braveness and commitment of the US soldiers who lost their life in Vietnam war is remembered and cherished in the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
The Wall had names of all the soldiers who gave their life in their courageous and brave act and also of the innocent people who lost their life in the war.
There was a national competition held by the congress asking people to submit their work for the memorial and nearly there were 1,421 submissions. Maya Lin, a 21 year old undergraduate designs this large black wall with nearly 57,939 names of all the soldiers and victims in it.
This nearly touched every visitor as Lin depicts the inner emotion of every person of the country and also explains,
"taking a knife and cutting into the earth, opening it up, and with the passage of time, that initial violence and pain would heal."
